Responsible Poker
18+
Poker Intel is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old — or the legal minimum age in your own jurisdiction, whichever is higher — to hold an account. Gambling can be addictive. Please play within your means.
What Poker Intel is — and is not
Poker Intel is an independent community and information platform for live poker. We publish venue and tournament information, learning content, community features and bankroll tracking tools.
Poker Intel does not operate gambling in any form. We do not run card rooms, tournaments, cash games or games of chance, we do not accept wagers, and we do not process, sell or handle tournament entries, buy-ins, seats or prize money.
All gambling activity is conducted by the relevant licensed operators. Those operators are solely responsible for their games, their payments and for complying with the gambling laws, licensing conditions and regulations that apply in their own jurisdictions. Where we link to an operator's website, you leave Poker Intel and that operator's terms, age verification, privacy policy and responsible gambling tools apply.
Information on Poker Intel is provided for general reference and is often supplied by venues and operators themselves. Schedules, buy-ins and structures change — always confirm details directly with the operator before you travel or commit money. Nothing on Poker Intel is financial, legal or gambling advice.
It is your responsibility to check that participating in poker is legal where you are. Access to some features may be restricted depending on your location.
Responsible poker guidance
Set limits before you sit down
Decide your buy-in budget and your session length in advance, and treat both as fixed. A limit you set while winning or losing is not a limit.
Only stake money you can afford to lose
Never play with money needed for rent, bills, food or debt repayments, and never borrow to play. Poker is entertainment, not income.
Don't chase losses
Moving up in stakes or extending a session to get even is the single most common route to serious harm. When your limit is reached, the session is over.
Keep it in proportion
Protect sleep, work, study, relationships and other interests. If poker is displacing them, that is a signal worth acting on early.
Play clear-headed
Avoid playing while drinking, tired, stressed or upset. Emotional states cost far more than technical mistakes.
Track it honestly
Record results and hours as they actually are. Selective memory hides problems; the bankroll tools on Poker Intel are there to make the real picture visible.
Use operator safety tools
Licensed venues and sites offer deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks and self-exclusion. Using them is routine, not an admission of anything.
Ask for help early
Support is free, confidential and available in most countries. You do not need to be in crisis to talk to someone — see the organisations below.
Signs it may be time to pause
- Playing for longer or for more than you intended, repeatedly
- Hiding how much you play, or how much you have lost
- Borrowing, selling or using money set aside for something else
- Feeling restless, irritable or anxious when not playing
- Missing work, study, sleep or commitments because of poker
- Believing a big win will fix a financial problem
If several of these feel familiar, contact one of the organisations below. They are independent of Poker Intel, free to use and confidential.
